Women in History

The students in fifth grade at Kimball School participate in a Woman in History Project during the months of January, February, and March.
They each select a famous woman in history and read about her life and contributions using books, magazines, and the Internet. Then the children write an essay about the special characteristics and contributions of the woman. The essays are read and rated by other students, parents, teachers, and Kimball School staff members. The overall winners, as well as the winners in the special categories, are recognized at an assembly of fifth grade students, their teachers, and parents.
